Khephren Thuram, a midfielder for Nice, ‘will go to Liverpool,’ according to reports, despite interest from European powerhouses Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were acquired by Liverpool from Brighton and RB Leipzig for approximately £95 million.
However, with Fabinho, Thiago, and Jordan Henderson all rumoured to be moving on to other teams, Liverpool may be obliged to return to the transfer market for at least one more new midfielder.
Romeo Lavia, a Southampton prodigy who is also drawing interest from rival Arsenal, has been heavily linked to the Premier League team.
Thuram has also become a possible target for Liverpool as a result of his good Ligue 1 debut with Nice.
Thuram initially thought to be Liverpool’s next acquisition, however current sources suggest that they have cooled interest in the defensive midfielder.
However, the unreliable Spanish publication Nacional claims that Thuram ‘will go to Liverpool’ this summer.
For their “diamond in the rough,” Nice “does not plan to accept less than 50 million euros” (£42.8m). For Barcelona, this is a “unacceptable number,” yet it is “correct” for Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Thuram is allegedly the top target on Jurgen Klopp’s list, and they have ‘took the lead’ in negotiations to sign him. Additionally, it is mentioned at the end of this piece that his “arrival at a giant” is anticipated “in a matter of days”—a statement that should be treated with caution.

When it comes to information about the Premier League team, GOAL’s Liverpool correspondent Neil Jones is a much more reliable source. He doesn’t think they will spend more than £40 million on their next addition.
Jones recently said to Empire of the Kop: “I think Lavia would be a very interesting signing for Liverpool because he plays a little bit deeper than the other midfielders who have been linked; he’s more of a 6 than an 8.”
‘Khephren Thuram…’ He is obviously popular in Liverpool and has been for some time. Whether France’s elimination from the European U21 Championship will affect their current capacity to go through with a contract… Possibly. things doesn’t seem to make things any harder, in my opinion. I think the question is obviously what kind of price Nice are selling at.
If Liverpool were to spend another £60 million on a player, I would be astonished. At most, I believe it would be £40m. This is probably appropriate for these two players. Liverpool would be highly interested in a deal of £30–40 million for either player if one were to become available. The question is if it exceeds that and enters the £40–£50 million range.
