Edson Alvarez is a player that West Ham United are interested in signing, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic. The London club is in contact with Ajax, who may demand £35–40 million for the Mexican midfielder as David Moyes looks to strengthen his team.
Declan Rice’s upcoming sale is almost certainly going to happen, in which case West Ham would get the first installment of the £100 million in fixed fees that was promised. The Hammers are not even close to bringing in new players, even if they intend to spend a significant amount of it on newcomers.

Alvarez might prove to be a wise acquisition for Moyes, who may experiment with different approaches to make the most of his midfield options in the upcoming campaign.
