According to the Telegraph (subscription required), Leicester City of the Championship is trying to secure a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei this summer.
The Foxes are interested in signing Casadei, one of the most sought-after players in the English second level, as they hope to return to the Premier League before the end of the upcoming season.
Chelsea paid Inter Milan over £12 million to get the young Italian last summer. His performances for the young team and in the U20 World Cup have been remarkable, despite the fact that he has yet to play for the senior team here.
In the latter, Casadei scored seven goals and assisted two in seven games. He led the Italian side to the final before losing to Uruguay.
A wise move?
The 20-year-old is a technically strong midfield player who is at his best when asked to play the box-to-box role. He is someone who can make a difference to the game in both boxes.
But, having not played any senior football in England, a loan move to Leicester would be right for Casadei. The former Inter player can get regular game time there with a chance to push the Foxes back to the big league at the first time of asking.

The 20-year-old may return to Stamford Bridge the following season and contend for a spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting lineup once he has gained some experience.
