Marc Jurado, a young player for Manchester United, is apparently in talks to return to Barcelona.

Between 2011 and 2020, the 19-year-old right back spent nine years in Barca’s renowned La Masia junior programme before turning down an extension offer from the La Liga powerhouses to join Man United.

In April 2021, Jurardo signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils. The following month, he made his debut for the club’s Under-21 team in a 3-2 loss to West Ham United in Premier League 2.

The two-cap Spain Under-20 international has since made frequent appearances for the Man United Under-21 team, appearing in five EFL Trophy games and scoring three goals and dishing out four assists in 23 Premier League 2 fixtures last season.

Jurado has worked out with Erik ten Hag’s first team, and in April of this year, during a 2-0 Premier League victory away at Nottingham Forest, he made his debut appearance on the replacements’ bench.

But as the Catalan-born defender has yet to play for Man United in a professional capacity, his previous club Barca may now be interested in signing him.

According to the Spanish news outlet Sport, Barcelona and Man United are in talks about re-signing Jurado this summer.

The La Liga winners intend to negotiate a cost for the kid based on a number of performance-related goals, the report continues.

Jurado will join the Barca Atletic junior team under the direction of veteran defender Rafael Marquez, whose contract was recently extended through the summer of 2024.

Marquez did better than expected in his first season in command of Barca Atletic, who finished the 1a Federacion with 17 wins, 13 draws, and 10 losses before falling to Real Madrid Castilla in the playoffs.

While Barca is seeking out young players for the future, first-team head coach Xavi is still looking to add to his squad in preparation for the new campaign.

The cash-strapped Catalan giants were unable to sign all of their high-priced top targets this summer, but they were still able to bring in three players in the form of free agents Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, and Vitor Roque.

Mason Mount, a midfielder, has reinforced Man United’s roster while negotiations with Inter Milan for custodian Andre Onana are reportedly nearing completion.
