Marketa Vondrousova, a lively Czech, claimed she had bet her coach a tattoo if she defeats the trailblazing Jabeur, who came runner-up at SW19 last summer, in the Wimbledon final on Saturday. Vondrousova will attempt to become the first unseeded woman to win Wimbledon.

In the Wimbledon women’s final on Saturday, Ons Jabeur and Marketa Vondrousova compete for a first Grand Slam singles title as technicalities clash, artistry unites, and career highlights converge.

Jabeur returns to the All England Club final a year after losing to Elena Rybakina in the final and months after finishing second at the US Open. Vondrousova, who was injured and missed three of the four Slams in 2022, competes in her first final since losing to Ash Barty at the 2019 French Open.

A war of wit, cunning, court coverage, and the ability to tolerate what may turn out to be another afternoon of exhilarating to and fro is set to take place as a result of the two players’ shared interest in dazzling shot variation during the past two weeks.

After losing to Vondrousova twice earlier this year at Indian Wells and the Australian Open, Jabeur overcame defending champion Rybakina in the quarterfinals and now intends to respond in a similarly bold manner.

“I’m seeking retribution. This year, I couldn’t defeat her,” admitted Jabeur. She’s got nice hands. She excels at playing. In all honesty, I’ll attempt to put a lot of emphasis on myself. I’m not sure how she’ll proceed in what will be her second Grand Slam final. We both have a competitive edge. The winner is whoever deserves it most.
