Herro is one of Miami’s top trade assets, but Portland, who already has a strong guard roster, is less interested in trading for him. Finding a third team, particularly one that has a significant need for a player with Herro’s talent, a sharpshooting guard who averages 20 PPG, may be the final component in a Lillard trade for this reason.
The 23-year-old former Sixth Man of the Year is just beginning the first of a four-year, $160 million deal.
