The Leyton House CG901, Adrian Newey’s first Formula 1 design, was wrecked in a collision during the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

During the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a legendary Formula 1 vehicle with an Adrian Newey design was involved in a collision.

Richard Hope was operating the Leyton House CG901 from the 1990 campaign when he lost control as he neared Molcomb Corner during the routine hillclimb run.

This sent it spinning and into a collision with the straw bales, which it then heavily struck before rebounding back onto the track.

Hope was unharmed, but the car sustained serious front and back damage.

It followed collisions involving a McLaren F1 GTR and a Hyundai RB22e as the third significant collision to happen at the bend over the 30th anniversary Festival of Speed weekend.
