Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets’ former teammate Jordi Alba is ready to join them at Inter Miami.

WHAT HAPPENED? Messi and another ex-Barcelona player, Sergio Busquets, both signed high-profile contracts to play for the MLS team that David Beckham owns a portion of, and it now appears that another player may follow in their footsteps and go from Barcelona to Miami.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: According to Fabrizio Romano, Miami has already reached an agreement to recruit left-back Alba. At the conclusion of the 2022–23 season, the 34-year-old left Barcelona, ending a trophy-filled tenure.

Additionally, Inter Miami is negotiating to sign Luis Suarez, who would make him a fourth former Barcelona player with the club by the end of the summer. The striker, who used to be a forward partner of Messi’s, is presently playing for the Brazilian team Gremio.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR INTER MIAMI? Suarez’s transfer appears to be the next goal for the ever-ambitious MLS franchise.
