According to rumors in Italy, Liverpool is considering a deal for Juventus and Italy attacker Federico Chiesa as Jurgen Klopp tries to strengthen his team in preparation for the 2023–2024 season.
The loss of Roberto Firmino has created a void in the Reds’ forward line, and Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz had injury issues last year. But if Liverpool were considering bringing in another offensive player, it would be unexpected.
However, given Chiesa’s current circumstances in Turin, a move to England cannot be completely ruled out. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiesa does not get along well with Juve manager Max Allegri and finds it difficult to fit into his 3-5-2 structure unless he plays the unfavorable wing-back or second striker position.
As a result, it is claimed that contract talks are currently “stuck in a stalemate,” which increases the likelihood that Chiesa will leave when his current contract expires in 2025.
Even though Klopp, who ‘greatly respects’ the 25-year-old, reportedly offered him the chance to play in a preferred ‘advanced winger’ role, the story adds that other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, are keen but that no offers have been made thus far.
However, a potential accord has run into one roadblock. Liverpool only values the player at €40m (£34.5m), while Juventus reportedly wants €60m (£51m) for him. Liverpool isn’t willing to pay more than that.
