David Beckham, a co-owner of Inter Miami, was pictured in tears as he watched Lionel Messi score a spectacular free-kick winner on his club debut.

The World Cup winner played his debut game in a Miami jersey when the team faced Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

When he entered the pitch in the 53rd minute, the 20,000+ spectators in the DRV PNK Stadium responded with loud applause.

The 36-year-old showed the crowd that even in the MLS, he is still the football GOAT with a smooth performance.

Fans, however, couldn’t have asked for a better moment to see the young magician make his stage debut.

Late in the contest, with the scores tied at 1-1, the number 10 was fouled just outside the area.

The ball was in the ideal spot for Messi to score, and as we have seen countless times before, the little magician stepped up and did just that.

The Argentine’s MLS debut couldn’t have been more perfect, demonstrating once more why he is still the game’s all-time greatest player.

The Argentine had produced a Beckham-like moment, and David Beckham could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head in disbelief and crying.

Even if the Englishman was all too accustomed to curling a shot into the top corner in the last seconds of a game, he was still moved by this event.

One of the best athletes to ever compete had a true “I was there” moment.

Sergio Busquets, a former Barcelona colleague, followed him in Miami and made his professional debut as well.

The stadium was filled with cries of “Messi, Messi, Messi” as fans finally witnessed the moment they had all been longing to see.
