As long as they can reachan an agreement about Romeo Lavia’s transfer fee, Liverpool is growing more confident that they will be able to sign him from Southampton this month.

Following the acquisitions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Lavia is one of the primary midfield targets Liverpool has been aiming to add to their department. Lavia was one of the better performances on the Southampton team that was relegated last season.

The following midfielder Liverpool signs will need to be someone who is happy playing in a deeper role than their other two additions because Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are prepared to depart.

Lavia has been chosen as their foundation midfielder’s ideal replacement in that regard. Football Insider claims that Liverpool is now confident that they will sign the Southampton teenager by the end of the month.

That probably suggests Liverpool believes they can reach a deal for Lavia next week. However, as things are, they must persuade Southampton of his value.

The demoted team is demanding £50 million, but Liverpool feels that a sum of £40 million would be more reasonable for a player with only one season of Premier League experience.

Southampton’s sell-on clause requires them to give Man City 20% of their earnings, regardless of the price they obtain.

The fact that Lavia appears to be keen on moving may be to Liverpool’s advantage. The 19-year-old is claimed to be ‘convinced’ that Liverpool have the ideal project for him, despite being linked with both Arsenal and Chelsea.

According to the source, Lavia has been persuaded by their representatives’ pitch, and Jurgen Klopp is ‘very enthusiastic’ to sign Lavia.

Liverpool believes that once they make progress with Southampton, who have Lavia under contract through 2027, things might move along very fast.

He might be the missing piece in their midfield puzzle, yet the prospective exits of two regular starts, such as Fabinho and Henderson, as well as rumours that Thiago Alcantara wants to go, may motivate Liverpool to recruit a fourth midfielder later.

In a late hijack, Fabinho becomes a target for Bayern Munich.

The future agreements for Lavia, Henderson, and Fabinho will be the main emphasis in the interim.

Regarding the latter, an agreement to sign for Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia is almost complete. In light of this, he missed Liverpool’s preseason trip of Germany.

Florian Plettenberg, a Sky Sports Deutschland specialist, recently warned that the Brazil international may potentially end up in Germany since Bayern Munich wants to sabotage the transfer.

After failing to sign Declan Rice, Bayern is searching for a new defensive midfielder. They get along well with Jorge Mendes, who might assist them in negotiating a deal for Fabinho.

The 29-year-old would be able to prolong his career in Europe by transferring there and, unlike Liverpool, would have access to Champions League play.

Nevertheless, the Bundesliga winners are well aware of how far along his transfer to Al Ittihad is. According to reports, the former Monaco resident has already agreed on certain personal terms to relocate to the Middle East.

Additionally, Liverpool is anxious to put the Fabinho controversy to rest as soon as possible, which may discourage them from waiting for a counteroffer from Bayern, especially if it enables them to focus on advancing the signing of Lavia.
