According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have achieved a comprehensive deal to buy Marcel Sabitzer for a reputed €19 million including bonuses.

Sabitzer will sign a contract with Borussia Dortmund until at least 2027, after spending the last six months on loan at Manchester United. The transaction is anticipated to be finalized within the next 48 hours.

According to Sky Germany, Sabitzer initially desired a move to England or Italy, but Dortmund stayed steadfast in their pursuit of the 29-year-old Austrian midfielder.

Sabitzer was present at Bayern Munich’s team presentation on Sunday, but left while the presentation was still going on, according to Sport1. “You have your sources, right?” Sabitzer responded when asked why he was going.

Sabitzer played 18 games in all competitions for Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, scoring three goals and creating one. Following his €15 million transfer from RB Leipzig in 2021, the Austrian played 54 appearances in all competitions for Bayern Munich, scoring two goals and creating two more.

He would be the third player to sign with Borussia Dortmund, following Ramy Bensebaini and Felix Nmecha.
