Galatasaray have revealed that they have begun talks to sign Wilfried Zaha on a free transfer following his departure from Crystal Palace

The 30-year-old winger is a free agent after his contract at Selhurst Park expired.

The Eagles reportedly offered the Ivory Coast international a four-year contract earning £200,000 per week.

However, after two seasons with Palace, where he scored 90 goals in 458 appearances, Zaha has decided to embark on a new adventure.

Zaha had been connected with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia, while Paris Saint-Germain has also been linked with a move to replace Lionel Messi.

Lazio in Italy and Fenerbahce in Turkey have both been mentioned as prospective destinations for the ex-Manchester United forward.

However, it appears like Galatasaray, the Super Lig champions, have won the race to sign the former Cardiff loanee.

Okan Burak’s representatives issued a message on Twitter, revealing that negotiations to sign the player are underway.

It stated, “Formal negotiations have been initiated with professional footballer Dazet Wilfried Armel Zaha regarding the transfer of the footballer to our club.”

According to The Guardian, while the transaction has yet to be finalised, Galatasaray is confident that they have done enough to secure their man.

They have even stated that Zaha will earn less money at Rams Global Stadium than he would have made if he stayed at Palace or moved to the Middle East.

Zaha has previously stated his desire to compete in the Champions League.

And if he joins Galatasaray, he will be able to compete in Europe’s top league.

After winning the Turkish top flight, they qualified for the second round of qualification for the following season.
