Chelsea will have to compete with Al-Hilal for PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Al-Hilal are interested in recruiting Chelsea target Kylian Mbappe from PSG and are willing to pay the forward an extravagant price of roughly £173.2 million per year to acquire his services.

According to journalist Tancredi Palmeri (h/t Daily Mail), after a year at the Middle Eastern club, the 24-year-old will be allowed to join Real Madrid. While this suits him well, it is doubtful whether Paris Saint-Germain will be willing to trade him cheaply.

However, the attacker will be hesitant to join the Saudi club because he wants to stay in Europe and play for PSG until 2024. It’s debatable whether he’ll be prepared to suffer a hit for one season in order to secure his ideal relocation.

Chelsea is also interested in signing the 2018 World Cup winner, but it may be difficult to negotiate personal terms with him given that he only wants to join Real Madrid. The Blues have previously inquired about the availability of the former AS Monaco star, and the Ligue 1 champions anticipate an offer from the West Londoners.

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to sell the 24-year-old and have left him out of their pre-season squad. It is also believed that the Ligue 1 club has set an £87 million asking price for him, which might allow the Blues to sign him.

Mbappe joining Chelsea would be a huge advantage for them because players of his calibre adapt fast to new leagues and make significant progress. More importantly, landing one of the top players in the world would be a statement for us.

PSG sensation Kylian Mbappe has expressed interest in joining Saudi club Al-Hilal.
We don’t want to compete with Saudi clubs, since we know how much money they can spend on a player. Given that we must follow the Financial Fair Play criteria, his signing would be tricky as well. Furthermore, he would expect exorbitant salaries, and his desire is to join only Real Madrid once his contract at PSG expires.
