According to reports, Fulham are close to agreeing on a transfer fee with AC Milan.
According to Football Insider, Fulham has expressed interest in Fode Ballo-Toure. And the Cottagers and Fulham have agreed on a fee for the 26-year-old. However, negotiations with the player are still ongoing, with personal terms being the last big issue that the London club must iron out.
Fode Ballo-Toure grew up in France before graduating from the Paris Saint-Germain Academy. But he was only a regular for PSG’s reserve team and got his major break at LOSC Lille. After leaving Lille, the Senegalese international joined AS Monaco for two years before signing AC Milan in July 2021.
However, the 26-year-old is yet to make an appearance for AC Milan, with Theo Hernandez ahead of him in the pecking order. And Ballo-Toure has only appeared in 26 games for the Serie A team, scoring one goal. Despite this, the footballer possesses a Serie A winner’s medal from his current contract with AC Milan. His time at San Siro, though, is expected to come to an end this summer, with Fulham his next destination.
Fulham’s interest in Ballo-Toure is surprising, given that Antonee Robinson is expected to be the club’s first-choice left-back next season. And, despite being courted by a number of clubs, including Manchester City and Newcastle United, the USMNT international will not be moving during the current transfer window.
Robinson has also recently signed a new deal with Fulham and will be staying at Craven Cottage for the foreseeable future. As a result, the Cottagers do not require a new left-back. Nonetheless, Fulham have identified Fode Ballo-Toure as a target, with the West London club moving quickly to sign him.
According to the report, Fulham and AC Milan have reached an agreement on a transfer fee for the Serie A champion. The 26-year-old, though, is yet to pledge his future to the West London club. So, before finalizing the deal to recruit Ballo-Toure from AC Milan, the Cottagers must settle on personal conditions.
Meanwhile, they’ve been busy this summer, with Raul Jimenez on the way. Fulham are also interested in Demarai Grey. It will be intriguing to watch if Ballo-Toure joins Craven Cottage during the current transfer window.
