Now that he is on par with some of the biggest names in sports, Jordan Henderson can brag about being the highest-paid English football player of all time.

With Lebron James and Rory McIlroy, Jordan Henderson is now the highest-paid English football player in history.

Jordan Henderson, a former Liverpool player and captain, is currently the highest-paid Englishman.

The England international moved to Saudi Arabia this summer in a deal worth about £12 million that saw him leave Liverpool.

The Reds great made the midfielder his top priority after being appointed manager of Al Ettifaq, and he has now attracted his man.

But Henderson’s pay after signing a three-year contract with the Saudi team is the true surprise.

The 33-year-old has consented to a lavish remuneration of £700,000 per week, which is significantly more than the average sportsperson in the globe, let alone footballers.

Henderson is currently, by a significant margin, the highest-paid English player in the entire globe.

Prior to receiving his most recent salary, the ex-Liverpool player’s title was held by Marcus Rashford of Manchester United.

Rashford is now making £375,000 per week thanks to a new contract he signed in the summer, and colleague Sancho isn’t far behind.

The winger was signed by the Red Devils for £350,000 per week when they acquired him from Borussia Dortmund.

Henderson, meanwhile, would earn £36.4 million year, far exceeding the annual wage of the majority of athletes.

The former Sunderland player will earn £109.4 million over a three-year contract, which is more than LeBron James did last year.

According to Forbes, the NBA great is ranked fourth among the world’s top 10 highest-paid athletes.

His on-field compensation of £35.5 million is lower than Henderson’s £36.4 million, and the LA Lakers forward isn’t the only international great Henderson has out-earnt.

Rory McIlroy, a golfing legend, got £31.5 million for his on-course exploits, while his close pal Tiger Woods earned £11.6 million.

LIV Golf rebel Phil Mickelson, whose £80m on-course earnings from 2022–2023 are the most of any athlete on the list, demonstrates the influence of Saudi money on the Forbes list.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo, who tops the list with a combined £105 million from on- and off-pitch earnings, retains him in seventh place on the list with his £1.5 million in off-course earnings.

With his own salary, Henderson will nonetheless mingle with some of the biggest sports stars, and he may not be the only big name to visit the Gulf State.
