Kylian Mbappe declines a mega-money Al Hilal deal, but another PSG talent might take his place.

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, it’s been reported that Paris Saint-Germain talisman, Kylian Mbappe, is refusing to negotiate with Saudi Pro League side, Al Hilal.

Kylian Mbappe declines a mega-money Al Hilal deal, but another PSG talent might take his place.

PSG accepted a world record bid of €300 million for his services, but no club will be able to sign him unless the French World Cup winner enters into negotiations.

That is likely to stay the case since PSG believes the player will simply walk away for free at the conclusion of next season and join Real Madrid, who will be able to pay him handsomely because they will not have to pay a transfer fee.

It’s a daring strategy from the player, essentially taking on his paymasters, but there’s little they can do because he appears to have done nothing illegal.

After missing out on Lionel Messi, Al Hilal will find it tough to accept not even getting an opportunity to speak with Mbappe despite coming to Paris.

Their visit to Paris, though, may not have been in useless.

Mbappe’s teammate, Marco Verratti, is reportedly in advanced talks to join the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The French champions appear to have changed their mind about getting go of some major names this summer, maybe looking to the future and bringing through lads from their academy.

The dream of winning the Champions League hasn’t happened to this point despite having the likes of Mbappe, Messi, Neymar, Cavani, Ibrahimovic et al in their ranks at various stages.

A younger, more dynamic squad might finally be able to make PSG’s dreams a reality.
