Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-0 in a pre-season friendly at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Carlo Ancelotti and Xavi both chose to field strong squads, with players such as Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Pedri, and Lewandowski all getting starts.

Within 15 minutes, Barcelona took the lead thanks to Ousmane Dembele. On the edge of the box, Pedri was awarded a free kick. The midfielder drew Real defenders out before playing it wide for the Frenchman to finish.

Real had a chance to equalize four minutes later when Federico Valverde’s enticing cross struck Ronald Araujo’s arm.

Vinicius Jr. took the penalty but could only hit the middle of the crossbar.

Tensions between the two teams boiled up several times in the first half, most notably when Frenkie De Jong was booked for a reckless push towards Vinicius Jr.

Just after the hour mark, the excellent Rodrygo handed the ball off to Aurelien Tchouameni, who hit the crossbar from 25 yards.

Barcelona’s lead was increased in the 85th minute by Fermin Lopez, a 20-year-old who beat Thibaut Courtois with a powerful strike into the top corner.

After being played in by Lopez, substitute Ferran Torres made it three in the final minutes of the game.

 

Barcelona will resume their preseason preparations against AC Milan on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

 

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will play Juventus in Florida on Thursday in their final pre-season friendly before the start of the LaLiga season in a fortnight.
