Liverpool are set to be punished by Sadio Mane’s move to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.

Liverpool face a £7.5 million transfer void as Sadio Mane closes in on a deal with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Liverpool will lose £7.5 million when Sadio Mane completes his move to Al Nassr, where he will play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia. The Reds legend did not have a fruitful year in Bayern Munich, which was marred by disappointment, injury, and scandal, and he is ready to end his career in Germany.

The 31-year-old is close to agreeing a £30 million contract to join Al Nassr and become the next star to arrive in the Middle East, following Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Jordan Henderson. However, the precise nuances of Mane’s move from Liverpool to the Bundesliga champions barely a year ago ensure that Jurgen Klopp suffers in the transfer market.

Mane sought a fresh challenge after spending six wonderful years on Merseyside, and his transfer to Bayern was approved by then-boss Julian Nagelsmann in what was viewed as a big coup. The Senegalese talent cost the German team an initial £27.5 million, with an additional £7.5 million in bonuses contingent upon the transfer’s success.

According to The Daily Mail, those bonuses have not been met as a result of his impending exit from Bayern, and Liverpool will not receive the additional £7.5 million they may have anticipated. It is disappointing since Klopp and sporting director Jorg Schmadtke still have work to complete this summer.

Sadio Mane is on the verge of a transfer to Saudi Arabia

They have improved their previously rejected offer to £45 million and are currently in negotiations with Southampton on the potential acquisition of Romeo Lavia, but Chelsea could try to hijack the process if they are unable to reach an agreement with Brighton regarding Moises Caicedo.

If Liverpool is successful in luring the teenage Belgian prodigy, Lavia, who was a target before Henderson, Fabinho, and Mane left the Premier League for Saudi Arabia, other midfield signings may be made.
