Chelsea head coach happy with options but is open to more additions in the transfer window

Pochettino is satisfied, but he is not ruling out further additions.

Mauricio Pochettino is pleased with his Chelsea players after they won the inaugural Premier League Summer Series on Sunday, defeating Fulham 2-0 in Landover, Maryland, but he has not ruled out adding to his team.

Pochettino has lauded his players’ work ethic, saying they have responded well to his teaching. Indeed, his team scored seven goals and was undefeated in three tournament matches, as well as defeating Wrexham in North Carolina before the Summer Series.

“It’s always fantastic to win. “I’m so pleased with the players’ and staff’s performance and work,” Pochettino stated.

Pochettino is satisfied, but he is not ruling out further additions.

“It’s a busy time, but we’re doing well, and congratulations to the players and staff because it’s never easy [to play] four games in a row, and now we have to play [Borussia] Dortmund in Chicago.”

“We need to continue and prepare the team in the best condition for the start of the Premier [League].”

Chelsea kick off their Premier League season against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 13, and Pochettino must quickly determine his best starting XI after experimenting with his squad in the United States.

New additions Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, on the other hand, impressed him. Nkunku has three preseason goals, while Jackson has two goals and two assists in the Summer Series.

Pochettino believes the Summer Series shows the two can play as an attacking partnership, but he would want to see more reinforcements.

“We’re working hard to develop this dynamic that will become natural,” he added. “It’s great that they immediately feel like they’re a member of the team and the group. It is critical since you need to start the Premier League in top shape and compete with each other.

“We were pleased with their performance today, and they complement each other very well.”

“If the club can add some different profiles to help us we are open but I am so happy with both.

Armando Broja is in the UK still recovering from a procedure. We need analyse now in the next weeks until the end of the transfer window to take a decision for the team.”
