Liverpool midfielder Fabinho had completed his move to Al-Ittihad.

During his five-year stint at Anfield, the Brazil international was called ‘The Lighthouse’ after winning every major award.

Fabinho, though, becomes the third Reds player to join the Saudi Pro League after Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino left earlier this summer.

Ahead of his official departure, the 29-year-old paid passionate respect to his time with Jurgen Klopp’s side after joining from Monaco in May 2018.

“Thanks to Liverpool, I reached my peak and played in a World Cup,” he remarked.

“Thanks to Liverpool, I was able to realize a childhood dream of mine: walking into a stadium with my son in my arms.”

“I played in the best stadium in the world, with the best atmosphere in the world, Anfield, thanks to Liverpool.”

“I lived the biggest match of my life thanks to Liverpool, the comeback against Barcelona, which was only possible because of Anfield.” That moment will live on in my memories forever.

“I really enjoy this club. Thank you for everything we’ve been through together, Reds

“I’ve spent the last five years wearing this jersey with the utmost honour and happiness.”

Fabinho is the latest high-profile signing for Al-Ittihad, joining the likes of former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema and ex-Chelsea and Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante.

The 29-year-old joined Liverpool from Monaco in 2018 and had a successful career on Merseyside, winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Club World Cup.
