Leeds United are allegedly still interested in Nat Phillips, with Liverpool willing to transfer the defender this summer.

Leeds Live reports that the Championship club are still interested in the 26-year-old, with Daniel Farke wanting to sign another central defender after signing Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea earlier this month.

Phillips had been linked with Leeds for the whole of the summer, but speculation has cooled down in recent weeks with the Whites’ signing of Ampadu. However, the Yorkshire club may potentially re-enter the race for the Liverpool defender.

Phillips has earned cult-hero status at Liverpool after his performances for the club in the 2020/21 season, and a move to a massive club like Leeds would be deserving of the central defender.

And this update is an encouraging one for the Phillips’ future, who could become a superstar in the Championship if the Elland Road side can complete a transfer for the Liverpool man.

Phillips, described as a ‘outstanding’ player by Scott Parker, has the quality and talent to establish a true name for himself with Leeds, and a move to Elland Road may be ideal for the Bolton-born star.

Leeds could be the making of Phillips

Phillips’ time at Liverpool is definitely coming to an end, with the club willing to transfer the defender after he spent the most of last season on the bench. And a transfer to Leeds may be the catalyst for the centre-back’s career.

Dropping to the Championship may not be enticing to Phillips, but given the magnitude of Leeds and the possibility of the Whites returning to the Premier League at the first try, a transfer could be ideal.

Indeed, the defender is excellent enough to make a name for himself at a top English club, and Leeds might provide him with the platform he needs to thrive in the coming years.
