Aston Villa players celebrate against Lazio

Aston Villa earned another pre-season victory after defeating Lazio 3-0 at the Bescot Stadium.

After being rejected from the penalty spot by Lazio goalie Ivan Provedel, Ollie Watkins scored the opening goal. After coming off the bench, John McGinn added a second with a stunning goal in the second half.

Villa dominated the game throughout, and the outcome was sealed when defender Mario Gila scored an own goal. Lazio, the Serie A runners-up, will compete in the Champions League next season.

Unai Emery’s team will wrap up their preseason practices against Valencia at the Mestalla on Saturday.
