Chelsea were looking to bolster their goalkeeping ranks following the sale of Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli earlier this summer.
Sanchez, who has two Spain appearances, came through the Brighton academy but dropped behind Jason Steele in the pecking order last season.
Robert Sanchez to Chelsea an interesting move. He’ll be reunited with Ben Roberts, his former coach and mentor at Brighton. “I think all young kids can be a bit radical in different situations, but Ben calmed me down.” More in this interview from 2021 #cfc https://t.co/TsRuvDmHEi

Saudi Arabian club makes Caicedo approach
Meanwhile, an unknown Saudi Arabian club has approached Brighton about signing Chelsea target Moises Caicedo.
Although no official proposal has been submitted, they have indicated what they are willing to pay.
Caicedo remains Chelsea’s major target, despite the fact that there is no active discussion between the two clubs.
Chelsea, according to Sky Sports News, will make an upgraded bid. Their previous approach of £80 million was rejected, with Brighton placing a higher value on the player, who wants to move to Stamford Bridge.
