Mike Tyson will train Francis Ngannou and be in the former UFC champion’s corner when he takes on Tyson Fury in their heavyweight fight in Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou will face Fury on October 28 under professional boxing’s official rules, with three judges ringside using the 10-point must system.

Fury returns to the ring after a decisive victory over Derek Chisora in December, where a 10th-round stoppage resulted in a third defence of his WBC world title.

“It is no secret that I am completely behind Ngannou in this battle of champions.” He has one powerful punch, and when it lands, it’s game over. “I’m excited to work with Ngannou and help him transition from the octagon to the boxing ring,” Tyson stated.

“He is not a newcomer to combat; he is a world champion.” He knows how to compete when the bell rings, but the key will be

putting his energy and combat skills into his fists and using his quickness to move quickly around the arena before delivering the knock-out blow. We’re here to win.” Mike Tyson will train the former UFC champion ahead of his showdown with The Gypsy King

Ngannou has had time to prepare for the fight since leaving the UFC at the end of his contract and signed an unprecedented mega-deal with global MMA co-leader Professional Fighters League (PFL) and their Super Fights Division in 2023.

“Bringing Mike Tyson into my training camp is one of the best decisions I can make to prepare for Tyson Fury in the ring at this year’s Riyadh Season,” he continued.

“In the sport, Mike Tyson is an idol of mine.” His knowledge and boxing IQ will be crucial in developing my technique under his supervision in order to win this superfight. I’ve been looking forward to this battle for years, and now that it’s finally here, I’m focused on fighting the best fight of my career and shocking the world on the most spectacular platform for the fans in Riyadh. On October 28, the world will find out who the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ is.”
