The injury to Arsenal’s forward Gabriel Jesus has caused the team to become interested in a young player who is drawing a lot of attention.
Jesus was injured earlier this week. For the beginning of the 2019 season, Arsenal will apparently be without their primary striker.
Due to this, it seems like Arsenal have reacted by looking towards attacking options in the transfer window. TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal have ‘enquired’ about the signing of Elye Wahi.
Chelsea has apparently been working very hard to sign the forward. Spurs have also been mentioned in the meanwhile.
According to the TEAMtalk story, Mikel Arteta ‘now wants Wahi to come’ as well in order to support Arsenal’s bid for the Premier League championship.

Earlier this year, according to Jeunes Footeux, Pascal Gastien lauded Wahi, saying, “I think he’s one of the best strikers in Ligue 1 at his age.”
The 20-year-old striker has undoubtedly lived up to these high expectations because he is thoroughly enjoying himself in the premier French level.
He has managed a goal every three games for Montpellier so far in all competitions. Wahi has also managed 32 goals in 84 Ligue 1 appearances.
This is no doubt a great tally for a forward so young. His potential is clearly very high and under a manager like Arteta, he could flourish.
Wahi would make a fantastic addition if they could sign him. It would assist in covering Jesus’ injury while also assisting in giving them greater depth.
Folarin Balogun has been strongly linked with a move elsewhere, therefore the Gunners must make sure they have enough striking reinforcements for the start of the season.
