This summer, is Harry Kane expected to remain at Tottenham Hotspur?

As a result of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy ignoring the deadline set by Bayern Munich to reach a deal regarding the England captain, Harry Kane may likely stay at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The center-forward’s deal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is set to end in June of next year, and during the past few weeks, he has been strongly connected with a transfer to Bayern.

Tottenham is understood to have disregarded the Munich heavyweights’ ultimatum on Friday night at midnight to reach a deal for Kane.

The 30-year-old may now stay at Tottenham this summer, which might result in his leaving the organization on a free transfer in June, according the Daily Mail.

According to the source, Bayern made their final offer of £86 million on Friday, but Spurs have been very clear that any offers less £100 million will not even be considered.

Now that Levy is purportedly in the country for a two-week family vacation, speculation that Kane will remain with Spurs, who begin their Premier League campaign next weekend, is intensified.

Since the club is in severe need of acquiring a new center-forward, Bayern is said to have made it clear from the start that they do not want the saga to go until the closing hours of the transfer window.

As a result, Thomas Tuchel‘s side are considering switching their attention to Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is also being heavily linked with a switch to Chelsea.

At this moment, there is not believed to be any serious chance of Bayern coming up to £100m for Kane, who has been involved in Tottenham’s pre-season amid the speculation surrounding his future.

If Kane stays at the club past the end of the current transfer window, Spurs are still believed to be hoping to persuade him to sign a new contract. However, it appears probable that he will go on a free transfer next summer.

Levy met with Jan-Christian Dreesen, the CEO of Bayern, and Marco Neppe, the technical director, earlier this week to discuss bringing the Three Lions captain to the Allianz Arena.

Kane scored 30 Premier League goals last season, but Spurs came in ninth place in the standings and will consequently be excluded from European competition in 2023–24.

As it stands, the club’s all-time leading goalscorer will be available for their season opener against Brentford on August 13.

Tottenham have another two matches before their trip to the Bees, though, facing Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday ahead of a clash with Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Tuesday.
