Liverpool is preparing a £21.5 million offer for another midfielder.

Russell Martin, the manager of Southampton, acknowledges that more players may soon depart his team as Liverpool pursues midfielder Romeo Lavia.

The Reds have already had two offers for the 19-year-old rejected, the most recent of which being a proposal worth almost £41 million.

Southampton is rumoured to be holding out for a £50 million asking price for the player they initially paid £12 million for last summer.

For the Championship season’s opening game on Friday night, Lavia was not utilized as a replacement. Adam Armstrong and Che Adams scored for Saints as they defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 on the road.

Martin stated after the game: “Of course there will be people going, and when they do go, hopefully we will be able to add to the group with players that suit us, and will help the group.”

Liverpool ‘£21.5m bid coming’ for midfield target as Romeo Lavia update emerges

According to the most recent rumour coming all the way from Brazil, Liverpool will present a $21.5 million offer for Fluminense pivot Andre Trindade soon.

Romeo Lavia’s second offer was turned down earlier this week, and the ECHO stated that the 22-year-old was now a potential target, with Liverpool genuinely interested.

Five days have passed, and if Brazilian news site Terra, via Paisley Gates, is to be believed, things must be going well because the midfielder’s club has been told to anticipate a bid “in the coming days.”

What’s more, another Brazilian outlet, Globo Esporte, have claimed that the Reds’ interest in Andre has not sprouted out of the blue as a result of knockbacks in their quest for Lavia, but instead has been a three-year scouting process dating back to 2020.
