After completing his medical testing over the weekend, the 24-year-old put pen to paper.

It’s a €25 million permanent transfer with an additional €5 million in add-ons.

He had only recently left Serie A in a contract worth €36 million plus €6 million in performance-related bonuses from Sassuolo, which also ensured the Neroverdi a 10% sell-on fee.

Given that Sassuolo is still owed €3 million, West Ham will only get a maximum of €27 million from the transaction.

Scamacca spent time in the youth academies of Lazio, Roma, PSV Eindhoven and Sassuolo, before going on loan spells with Cremonese, PEC Zwolle, Ascoli and Genoa.

In 27 competitive games with West Ham United, he scored eight goals, assisting them in capturing the Europa Conference League crown.

Despite having 11 senior Italy appearances, the striker has failed to register a goal.
