Ramos, 22, came up through the Portuguese club’s system and scored 19 league goals in 30 games last season.

In his debut international appearance, he scored a hat-trick and assisted in a last-eight triumph over Switzerland at the 2022 World Cup.

“It’s a big moment of pride and immense joy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” Ramos said in a statement released by PSG.

“PSG are one of the biggest clubs in the world with one of the best squads,” he continued.

Ramos is Paris Saint-Germain’s eighth summer acquisition, following the arrivals of France defender Lucas Hernandez and Spain striker Marco Asensio.

They missed out on Harry Kane, who has been extensively linked with Bayern Munich.

PSG begin their Ligue 1 title defence against Lorient on Saturday, but the start of the season is clouded by worries about Kylian Mbappe’s future.

The France captain has one year remaining on his contract with PSG, who prefers that he go now rather than for free next summer.

Mbappe has refused to sign a new contract, and PSG believe he has already agreed to join Real Madrid next season.

The dispute between the 24-year-old and the French club hit a new low last month, when they dismissed him from their squad for a tour of Japan and South Korea.

Mbappe has been working with the reserves ahead of the new season.
