According to the source, last week’s talks between Spurs and Bayern Munich were held in London, but the German offered only £25 million more than Harry Kane’s market value.

Tottenham still hope Kane will stay in North London

Bayern reportedly had a transfer meeting planned for today anyhow, and the topic of discussion will be this update.

As Kane enters the final year of his Lilywhite contract, Tottenham is still holding out hope that they can persuade him to stay in North London.

Spurs will be hoping that the striker, who scored four goals against Shakhtar Donetsk in a preseason friendly yesterday, gets included in the team that travels to Spain tomorrow to play Barcelona.

Postecoglou said after the 5-1 win over Shakhtar (Football.London): “From my perspective, I don’t know what deadlines means. We know there’s one deadline and that’s the end of the transfer window. Beyond that, I’m in open dialogue with Harry and with the club on a regular basis.

“I told them to let me know if the situation changed. I don’t need to be aware of the arrivals and departures in between. I only want to focus on the task at hand because, regardless of the outcome, I still need to build this team.

“I have to get going right away; I can’t wait around for a decision. We don’t have the luxury of time for that. I am utilizing what is in front of me. Harry is clearly invested in what we’re doing, as you could see today, and we’ll keep doing it unless anything changes.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It would be reasonable to anticipate that Bayern Munich would find it very challenging to submit a new and improved offer in the coming days in time for the start of the Premier League season. Despite this, it cannot be totally ruled out. For now, supporters of Harry Kane staying at Spurs might consider this success.
