Turner did not play in the Premier League last season, but he did appear five times in the Europa League.

The 29-year-old seems unlikely to replace Ramsdale anytime soon and has now chosen to seek first-team experience elsewhere.

Nottingham Forest have now pounced, signing Turner for a fee of £7 million, which may rise to £10 million.

Dean Henderson may or may not return from Manchester United, thus Turner could have a real chance to play regularly.

Turner’s departure clears the door for Arsenal to acquire a new keeper, with Brentford’s David Raya joining the club.

This means that Ramsdale, Arsenal’s first-choice keeper, will now have a new backup stopper to work with.

Ramsdale finished ahead of Leno in his first season, Turner in his second, and Raya in his third.

There has been a lot of change in Ramsdale, and they are now parting ways after only a year of working together.

Ramsdale will be focused on staying ahead of Raya in the coming weeks, but he has delivered a message to Turner as he departs Arsenal.

Ramsdale posted on Instagram, ‘gonna miss you big dude,’ bidding an emotional farewell to his teammate.

Arsenal colleagues Gabriel Magalhaes, Reiss Nelson, and James Hillson all wished Turner luck as he joins Forest for the new Premier League season.
