West Ham and Monaco are emerging as the major rivals for Folarin Balogun, as they are the only two teams capable of paying Arsenal’s £40 million-plus asking price.

The young striker’s preferred destination had been one of the Milan teams, with Internazionale looking the most likely, but the Champions League finalists cannot match the fee. West Ham join race to sign Folarin Balogun From Arsenal

If that is the case, he is open to any possibility, though staying in the Premier League appears to be more appealing.

Despite the fact that Balogun had a solid loan spell at Reims last season, he is willing to give Ligue 1 far more consideration than other players.

As Mikel Arteta wants to add more variation to his midfield, Arsenal are looking to make at least one more substantial deal in order to bring in a number six.

The problem is that, like attackers, there aren’t many midfielders of that profile available for purchase right now.

Balogun scored 21 goals for Reims last season, trailing just Kylian Mbappe, Alexandre Lacazette, and Jonathan David, but he will be pushed down the pecking order at Arsenal by Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Eddie Nketiah.
