Luis Enrique is hopeful that the club and Kylian Mbappe can reach an agreement.

Paris St-Germain boss Luis Enrique hopes the club will “find an agreement” with Kylian Mbappe and confirmed a deal for Ousmane Dembele was “99%” done.

Luis Enrique is hopeful that the club and Kylian Mbappe can reach an agreement.

Mbappe is not practising with PSG’s first-team squad after stating that he will not extend his contract beyond next summer.

PSG prefers to sell Mbappe rather than let him depart for free when his contract expires.

“I hope the club and the player can reach an agreement,” former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique remarked.

Mbappe was supposed to leave on a free transfer at the end of the 2021-22 season, but instead agreed to a two-year contract extension with the option of another year.

But the 24-year-old has already informed the club that he has no intention of signing to the year-long extension, and is largely expected to join Real Madrid for free in 2024.

Mbappe was left out of PSG’s preseason tour squad in Asia.

He later refused to meet with representatives from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, who made a world record £259 million bid for him.

PSG begin their Ligue 1 championship defence against Lorient on Saturday, and the futures of Mbappe, fellow attacker Neymar, and midfielder Marco Verratti remain uncertain.

“I will not talk about my discussions with Neymar and Verratti,” stated Luis Enrique, the ex-Spain coach who took over for Christophe Galtier this summer.

“It is in the private domain. I invite you to pay attention to my actions. My decisions that will make my opinion clear.”

Meanwhile, France forward Ousmane Dembele is close to sealing his move to the Parc des Princes club from Barcelona.

“Dembele is not yet a PSG player legally. But 99%,” added Luis Enrique. “There is still one paragraph left in the contract.”
