The 21-year-old has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool so far this summer. Chelsea had been dominating the battle for some time, but the Reds rushed in late last night to agree a £111 million agreement.

They had previously signed Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, and their midfield makeover was well underway. They also allowed Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to go on free transfers, allowing them to wipe away their aging midfield lineup.

Furthermore, they gained about £50 million through the sales of seasoned duo Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, whose departures left Liverpool short in the defensive midfield area. Their attention swiftly switched to Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, but the Saints rejected three bids, the most recent of which was for £45 million, leaving them floundering in the market.

To make matters worse, Chelsea stepped in with a £48 million bid, and Liverpool countered with an accepted bid for Caicedo. However, Sky Sports News is saying that the midfielder is reconsidering a prospective move.
