Romero substitution was a head knock in today's game.

Tottenham Hotspur substituted defender Cristian Romero immediately after he scored on Sunday because the Premier League club was unwilling to risk concussion, according to manager Ange Postecoglou.

Romero collided with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo in an incident that halted play before heading the game’s first goal in the 11th minute.

Postecoglou replaced him as soon as the VAR examination into the goal was completed, despite the fact that the player was clearly unhappy about being replaced.

Romero substitution was a head knock in today’s game.

“He got a head knock, and it’s pretty obvious.” “The medical team was just monitoring him as he progressed from there,” the Australian told reporters.

“Then he scored with his head, and they were pretty sure we needed to get him off for his own good, and knowing what we know about head injuries, it’s not even an issue for me; we always err on the side of caution.”

“In that situation, you don’t listen to the player because he doesn’t know what’s going on.” It’s fairly obvious what we needed to do.”

Postecoglou said that a mistake in filling out the improper substitution slip cost him a regular change of player.

When asked if Romero will be available for Tottenham’s next league game against Manchester United at home on Saturday, Postecoglou stated he didn’t know.

“That’s where people like me should just shut up and listen to the doctors, so that’s what I’m going to do,” he explained.

“I believe we’ve progressed beyond the point where managers or players try to make light of these situations.”

“It’s clear that there are protocols, and they’re there for a reason, and the welfare of the player is paramount, so that decision will be made by people who know far more about the subject than I do.”
