Tottenham are planning a £50 million transfer raid on Arsenal to replace Harry Kane

Tottenham are planning a £50 million transfer raid on Arsenal to replace Harry Kane

Tottenham have been without a natural center-forward for the first time since 2014, thanks to Harry Kane’s blockbuster move to Bayern Munich this weekend.

Off the field, the north Londoners are currently facing an incredibly hectic moment in the transfer market. After Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Son Heung-min failed to deliver in their Premier League opening against Brentford, replacing Kane will be at the top of their priority list.

Since Kane’s £100 million move to Germany, Spurs have been connected with a number of European strikers. Gent forward Gift Orban is thought to have been on their radar since early in the transfer window, with Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, Lille forward Jonathan David, and Aleksander Mitrovic. Arsenal, on the other hand, might have a significant impact on their north London rivals’ transfer plans, according to rumours that Folarin Balogun is on their radar. After being left out of Mikel Arteta’s team in the last two games, the USMNT star appears to be on his way out of Arsenal this summer.

Balogun has piqued the interest of a number of European clubs after scoring 21 Ligue 1 goals for Stade Reims last season. Inter Milan and AS Monaco have previously made bids that have been rejected, with Arsenal’s £50 million valuation proving impossible to match.

Balogun has surfaced as a possible replacement for Kane at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. Along with references to Vlahovic, Orban, and Mehdu Taremi, it’s implied that Balogun is eager for a shot in the Premier League, despite having only made two appearances previously.

It remains to be seen how much of an interest Tottenham actually have in Balogun. There are also doubts over Balogun’s stance of switching the red side of north London to white having come through the Hale End academy.
