Bayern Munich reportedly wants Manchester United to pay £34.5 million plus bonuses in exchange for Benjamin Pavard.

The 27-year-old player is willing to leave the Allianz Arena, seeking a new challenge after a string of victories since moving to Bavaria from Stuttgart in 2019.

Manchester United, on the other hand, are aggressively looking for a replacement center-back as they attempt to complete a £30 million sale of Harry Maguire to West Ham United. Pavard’s name appears prominently on their lengthy list of potential transfer targets.

United had already began talks with Bayern about a trade for Pavard, who can play both right-back and center-back. They were aiming for a £30 million valuation for the World Cup winner.

According to sources, Bayern has informed to Manchester United their altered attitude, setting the asking price for Pavard at £34.5 million plus supplemental incentives.

Pavard is said to be dissatisfied with Bayern’s new stance. Personal arrangements for his move to Old Trafford were allegedly initially agreed upon, and United have also voiced surprise at the changed stipulations.

Negotiations between the two parties are ongoing, with Manchester United especially eager to strike an agreement. Nonetheless, Bayern’s failure to get Kyle Walker from Manchester City may force the Bundesliga giants to reassess their stance on the prospective sale.

United are also considering Jean-Clair Todibo, Perr Schuurs, Jarr Branthwaite, Edmond Tapsoba, and Benfica’s Antonio Silva to improve Erik ten Hag’s squad depth. These players, however, do not provide the same diversity in terms of positional alternatives as Pavard.
