According to a source close to the player, he feels settled at United, is certain of playing time this season, and did not talk with West Ham manager David Moyes during the process.

Maguire was an unused replacement in United’s 1-0 win over Wolves on Monday, before which Ten Hag said he had a future at the club if he fought for it.

Another factor to consider is that United would need to locate a replacement center-back at this point in the season.
