The Whites are still hesitant to let their Serbian attacker join Al-Hilal, especially as the Saudi Pro League club has yet to fulfill their £52 million valuation. The latest bid is thought to be worth up to £46 million, and head coach Marco Silva still sees the 28-year-old striker as an important part of his strike force after coming off the bench to turn Fulham’s opening fixture at Everton in their favour by starting the move that led to Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s winner. Mitrovic has 111 goals in 206 appearances for Craven Cottage since joining on loan in 2018.

Selling Mitrovic, who scored fifteen goals in all competitions last season as Silva’s team placed tenth in their first season back in the Premier League, so close to the end of the summer transfer window would be a risk for Fulham. The Mail claims that they are interested in giving Balogun, who has only made ten first-team appearances for the Gunners, scoring twice, a chance to show himself in the Premier League – though the Whites are unlikely to agree to the £50 million asking price.

The 22-year-old striker, who switched from England and scored his first international goal for the US in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final win over Canada earlier this summer, scored 22 goals in 39 games on loan at Ligue 1 Stade de Reims last season. Arsenal have already turned down a bid from Monaco for Balogun, who has two years left on his contract with the club.
