Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio scored in the second half to help West Ham overcome Chelsea 3-1 at the London Stadium.
The Hammers got off to a flying start when £30 million summer addition James Ward-Prowse assisted just seven minutes of his debut.
The former Southampton midfielder’s right-wing corner was headed past Robert Sanchez by Nayef Aguerd, who jumped highest.

Chelsea reacted and deservedly levelled when 19-year-old Carney Chukwuemeka rifled a magnificent solo drive into the far corner for his first senior goal just shy of the half-hour mark.
The lively Raheem Sterling then won Chelsea a penalty two minutes before halftime, but Enzo Fernandez’s low spot-kick was superbly saved by Alphonse Areola.
The Blues’ domination threatened to continue after the break, but it was the hosts who took the lead when Ward-Prowse picked up his second assist, allowing Antonio to sprint clear and thunder a magnificent, low strike into the far corner.

Chelsea turned to British record signing Moises Caicedo, who came off the bench, and their hopes seemed to be strengthened when Aguerd was sent out for a second bookable offence 23 minutes from time.
West Ham, on the other hand, defended for dear life before sealing the points when Caicedo took down Emerson, allowing Paqueta to convert a stoppage-time penalty.
The result means that Mauricio Pochettino is still looking for his first competitive win as manager of the Blues, and it pushes the Hammers up to sixth place in the early standings.

Next up, Chelsea host top-flight newcomers, Luton Town on Friday night while winless West Ham visit high-flying Brighton on Saturday.
