When asked about Richarlison’s contributions to the Tottenham Hotspur team, Heung-min Son defended his teammate and insisted that he does not need to replace the Brazilian up front for Spurs.
Following Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich, everyone seemed to be wondering how the team can replace its talismanic striker.
The North London club now has roughly £100 million to spend as a result of the sale (Sky Sports), although it is unclear how they want to replace the void left by the England captain.

So far this season, Richarlison has had to step up and lead the Spurs’ offensive line. The 26-year-old has worked hard in his two games this season but has yet to find the back of the goal.
Richarlison, of course, is aiming to rebound from a particularly poor season last year, in which he only managed three goals for Spurs (Transfermarkt) and had to wait until April for his first league goal for the Lilywhites.

Heung-min Son was asked about his own position in the line-up and whether he would prefer to take Richarlison’s place on Sky Sports (19/08/2023 at 7:15 pm) after Tottenham’s win against Manchester United on Saturday, but the Spurs captain claimed everyone is performing their job as taught.
“I think I can play any position, to be honest, left and right, in the middle,” he remarked. But I thought Richy played quite well. He was in possession of the ball. But I’ll still get into positions.”

Richarlison hasn’t been able to trouble the keepers yet this season, but his work ethic and desire on the pitch have been extremely beneficial to the team’s efforts.
His goals will come in time, but it shouldn’t matter how many he scores as long as he works hard, supports the attacking system, and follows Ange Postecoglou’s instructions.
