Should Arsenal sell Gabriel Magalhaes despite Real Madrid interest
Real Madrid and Saudi Arabian sides are noted to have interest in Gabriel and Arsenal should be welcoming the interest as swiftly as they shut it down
This season, Mikel Arteta promised Arsenal variety, rotation, and rivalry among his players. Yet, two games into the new Premier League season, one of last season’s starting is on the bench, and it’s panic stations.
Could Gabriel Magalhaes be on his way out? There is allegedly interest from Saudi Arabia and Real Madrid, and the manager isn’t starting him, which can only mean one thing. Should Arsenal sell Gabriel Magalhaes despite Real Madrid interest
Yes, if we chose to ignore numerous aspects of the issue. To begin with, Gabriel only recently signed a new deal with the club, in which he reveals the overwhelming feelings he felt upon committing his future to Arsenal.
“I’m very happy to sign this new contract with Arsenal because it’s such a big club,” he explained. “It’s a dream come true, and today is the best day of my life.” I’m overjoyed to get my contract extended here.
“Every game, the fans in the stadium push the squad. That’s why I’m thrilled to be staying here. Arsenal is where I call home.
“In the future, I want to win games for Arsenal, I want to win trophies with Arsenal and stay here for a long time because it’s my home.”
These do not seem like the statements of a player who is interested in departing for another team or who is particularly driven by the large sums of money that Saudi clubs can give. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are a draw, but this is due to the club raising itself and its players to a title-chasing level.
The premier sides will be interested in your players, and if they are not, it is reasonable to wonder if we have the greatest potential players in our roster. Gabriel, along with Josko Gvardiol, was perhaps the greatest left-footed centre-half in Europe last season, and he unsurprisingly won a hefty move to Manchester City.
However, when those sides, such as Real Madrid or wealthy Saudi Arabia, come in, the process to renew his contract gives the Gunners control over possible talks. With their latest renewals, the Gunners have demonstrated a pull that was previously lacking.
Gabriel will undoubtedly see plenty of action, as Arteta hinted in his post-match press conference. In reality, he effectively eliminated the possibility of his bench position being tied to an exodus.
“Nothing, it’s about the games we expected, how we were going to defend and attack, and what I believe is the best thing.” He appeared in both games and contributed to our victories in both.
“He was really good today; when he came on, he absolutely dominated the box, and he’s going to play a lot of games.” That is sometimes the decision.”
Takehiro Tomiyasu’s ban is expected to cause a shift in the defence, and Gabriel may return for the game against Fulham. Even if he does have to wait, he is far from the only top player on the bench.
Leandro Trossard, Emile Smith Rowe, Jorginho, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Fabio Vieira are all valued more over £100 million. This is a fantastic problem to have; the question now is how Arteta will handle it all.
