SPURS ARE EXPECTED TO PRESENT A BID FOR A ‘FANTASTIC’ ATTACKER BEFORE THE DEADLINE.

SPURS ARE EXPECTED TO PRESENT A BID FOR A 'FANTASTIC' ATTACKER BEFORE THE DEADLINE.

Tottenham Hotspur are planning to make a bid for Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson in the coming days.

Brennan Johnson is developing as a key Tottenham Hotspur target as the transfer window closes.

According to Football London, Tottenham are set to launch a move for Brennan Johnson before the transfer window closes.

Spurs still require reinforcements with less than a week left in the transfer window.

Tottenham appears to be looking for a dynamic attacker with pace, following their interest in Gent striker Gift Orban.

Johnson is also being pursued for that position, with Tottenham perhaps willing to blow the cash after losing Harry Kane.

The Welshman has played all over the front line for Forest and appears to be a good fit for Tottenham.

Spurs may have received a boost as well, with the Daily Mail reporting that Johnson preferred a move to Tottenham over a move to Chelsea.

Tottenham has a good chance of signing Johnson, but Forest is looking for roughly £50 million, so Spurs will have to dig deep.

Why would Tottenham Hotspur go for Brennan Johnson over Gift Orban?

Orban is currently causing quite a stir after becoming something of a phenomenon in Gent.

Tottenham fans would want to see the Nigerian arrive, but the club might go in a different path by signing Johnson, who has been described as a ‘great player’ by manager Steve Cooper.

Last season, the Welshman scored eight goals for Nottingham Forest and appeared in every Premier League game.

Those figures may not be as eye-catching as Orban’s in Belgium, but Johnson’s goals were considerably more impressive.

Johnson’s ability to adapt to Premier League life, as well as his homegrown status, will be very appealing to Tottenham.

Johnson might cost twice as much as Orban, but if Tottenham prefers a little more immediate effect over Orban’s long-term potential, a massive bid for the Forest star could come in shortly.
