Athens-born Mavropanos – nicknamed “Dinos” – is a dominant figure at 6’4″, a defender who plays on the front foot, and is now looking forward to bringing his vast range of talents to east London.

“I’m really happy and excited to be here – and to be back in the Premier League with West Ham United,” the defender stated. “It’s an exciting time to be joining the club after winning the Europa Conference League last season – and I’m really looking forward to this next step in my career.”

“I can promise the fans that I will give everything I have for them and the shirt.”

David Moyes stated his delight at bringing in a player who led the Bundesliga in interceptions last season and has established himself as a first-team regular for his country.

“I’m pleased to welcome Konstantinos to West Ham United,” remarked the boss. “We were looking to strengthen our centre-half options this summer, so it’s great that we were able to bring in an international defender of his calibre.” We’re looking forward to welcoming him to the team.”

Everyone at KUMB would like to welcome Konstantinos, who becomes David Moyes’ third capture of the summer following the arrival of Edson Alvares and James Ward-Prowse, to West Ham United FC.
