Tottenham‘s bid of £51 million for the 26-year-old winger has been rejected.
According to A Bola, Porto turned down a €60 million (£51.3 million) offer from Tottenham Hotspur for winger Pepe.
Pepe has been a regular starter for Porto since joining the club from Gremio in Brazil two years ago.

Tottenham’s offer for Pepe was turned down
According to Bola, Spurs made an initial offer of €45 million (£38.5 million) plus an additional €15 million (£12.8 million) in add-ons for Pepe, which Porto rejected.
According to the publication, the Dragons had no intention of accepting the deal because the youngster has immense potential and Sergio Conceicao sees him as a key component of his set-up.

According to the source, Porto made it clear to Tottenham that they would have to meet Pepe’s €75 million (£64.2 million) release clause in order to entice him away from Estadio do Dragao.
So, unless Spurs loosen their purse strings and increase their offer, the dynamic wide-man will remain at the Portuguese club for the time being, according to A Bola.
Finally, the publication claims that Arsenal inquired about the winger’s availability earlier this summer but backed out when Porto made it obvious to the Gunners that they would have to pay the player’s massive release clause.

Tottenham may be interested in Brennan Johnson for a similar reason, with the Welshman also capable of playing multiple positions.
