However, it is increasingly likely that Balogun will join Monaco, since the Ligue 1 club has emerged as his major and most serious rival.

Arsenal and Monaco have been in talks for a long time, and Galetti has revealed that Balogun’s move back to France, where he impressed while on loan at Reims last season, is nearing completion.

According to Galetti, the only remaining components of the agreement are the final technicalities, and Balogun’s affiliation with Arsenal is expected to end within the next 48 hours.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Balogun has been one of our finest academy players, but we have better options and the decision to sell him is simply the right one.

He did well in France last season, so Monaco will enjoy having him in their squad while we now have money to pursue other transfer subjects or keep in our account for other financial commitments.
