Ivan Toney takes a key step toward his next move as Arsenal makes a transfer decision.

Toney, 27, one of the Premier League’s most sought-after strikers, is now serving an eight-month sentence after admitting to breaking severe FA betting rules. He delivered a frank interview on the Diary of a CEO podcast about being locked in a “football prison,” the agony of missing out on the World Cup, but also about his future and his desire of moving to a big club.

Toney, a former Newcastle and Peterborough striker, has 18 months left on his current contract at Brentford, who have stood by him and wish to offer him a new agreement. Toney’s move to one of football’s most well-known agencies, though, will be viewed as a significant step.

“It is very timely for me to join CAA Stellar,” Toney stated. It’s like a new beginning. Never underestimate your ability to change the course of your life.”

“I am very excited that we have signed Ivan,” said CAA Stellar executive chairman Barnett. He is a terrific talent, and I am confident that this is just the beginning of a fantastic future for him.” “We are happy that Ivan has placed his trust in Jonathan and myself,” said Barnett’s partner executive chairman David Manasseh. “We take such responsibility very seriously.”

Toney joins England stars Jack Grealish, Ben Chilwell, Kalvin Phillips, Luke Shaw, Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, and James Ward-Prowse as clients of CAA Stellar. They have oversaw high-profile transactions for Grealish, Chilwell, Pope, and Ward-Prowse.

Despite the ban, Toney could be in line for a big-money January move, with a number of Premier League clubs keeping an eye on the sought-after striker.

Arsenal and Tottenham have both been mentioned as potential New Year’s Eve destinations. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is still looking for a goal machine, while Tottenham is looking for a replacement for Harry Kane.

During a recent interview with Steven Bartlett, Toney appeared to open the door to a move to Arsenal. When asked about growing up as a Liverpool fan, he replied, “Yeah, I’ve been a Liverpool fan my entire life, but I’ve always liked Arsenal.” I enjoy watching Arsenal. I enjoy how they play and how enthusiastic the fans are.”
