Beto is expected to complete his move to Everton this week.

Beto is expected to complete his move to Everton this week.

Beto, the Udinese striker, is said to have come to Merseyside to finalize a deal to Everton.
The Portuguese striker started in his team’s 3-0 loss to Juventus last weekend, but he is not among those who have flown south to face Salernitana on Monday evening.

According to The Athletic, the 25-year-old flew into the UK on Sunday morning to undergo his physical.

With Everton in EFL Cup action this week and Sheffield United at the weekend, the club will be hoping to finalize a deal as quickly as possible. Beto is expected to complete his move to Everton this week.

Everton suffered yet another defeat at Goodison Park over the weekend, this time to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This setback keeps them at the bottom of the table, with three defeats in a row and no goals scored.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin out again due to injury, manager Sean Dyche brought in youngster Lewis Dobbin and tried Arnaut Danjuma in a central role, but to no avail.

Neal Maupay made his debut against Fulham on the opening weekend and was guilty of squandering more than one golden opportunity as Everton lost 1-0 – the same scoreline Wolves departed Goodison with on Saturday.

Beto, on the other hand, provides more goal-scoring experience, having scored double digits in both of his Serie A seasons with Udinese.

A strong season for Portimonense in 2020-21 drew the attention of Udinese, just a few years after Beto was playing amateur football and working at KFC.

Beto’s goals boosted Udinese have a solid start in Serie A last season, as he scored five in the first eight gameweeks.

Beto’s other significant moments in the black and white of Udinese include two goals in the Stadio Olimpico in a dramatic 4-4 draw with Lazio, a hat-trick against Cagliari, and scoring in back-to-back seasons against AC Milan.

Fabrizio Romano believes that the move will be finalized within the next 24-48 hours, which means that the striker will be available for Everton’s visit to Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Everton play Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, and Beto must be signed and registered by midday on Tuesday to be eligible.

According to The Athletic, Everton will not pay anything until the next fiscal year, although the transfer is expected to be in the area of £21.4m – a figure lower than Beto’s current release clause.

A further £4.2 million could be owing in performance-related add-ons, but deferring payment until next year could give Everton more wiggle room in the transfer market this summer.
