Inter won 2-0 against Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari on Monday, joining defending champion Napoli, AC Milan, and Hellas Verona as the only Serie A clubs to have won their first two games.
Inter fans were concerned after Lukaku’s latest loan spell from Chelsea expired and Dzeko left, leaving the Nerazzurri without a centre forward.
However, Thuram’s abilities appear to be an ideal fit for coach Simone Inzaghi’s approach of attacking down the wings.
The son of legendary Parma and Juventus defender Lilian Thuram, the France forward threaded in a precise through ball to set up Denzel Dumfries’ opener and then was involved in the buildup to Lautaro Martinez’s goal on the half-hour mark.

Martinez, who had earlier hit the post, was sent up on the left wing by Thuram and Federico Dimarco and neatly controlled the ball before hitting the target amid three defenders.
Thuram joined Inter on a free transfer last month after declining a contract extension with Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he had spent the previous four seasons.
Meanwhile, Lukaku appears to be on his way to Roma on loan.
Also, Salernitana and Udinese drew 1-1, with Boulaye Dia equalizing midway through the second half after Udinese’s goal from Lazar Samardzic. Guillermo Ochoa, the Mexican keeper, made seven saves to keep Salernitana in the game.
